There were more reasons to believe it would happen than not, but now we have official confirmation from Sony that an upgraded PlayStation 4 is on the way. The current president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Andrew House, made a couple statements to Financial Times in regards to the upcoming hardware.

“It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4,” House stated. “We will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle.”

Not only did he refer to the “Neo” as a “high-end PS4,” but he also let it be known that this PS4 will not be on hand at E3. Guess we won’t be looking out for that next week. Of course, Mr. “Hizzouse”  made sure to clarify that this new PS4 won’t make the current one obsolete. Yea, it better be that way– ‘less someone wants their ass torn a new one.
