One of America’s favorite past times is sitting around a game of Monopoly and making tons of fake money until the banker starts making deals and swindling people. Now you can do that like Shinra did in Final Fantasy VII.
Merchoid, a company that specializes in gaming merch (among other types), has announced that they’re making a Final Fantasy VII themed Monopoly board game. Officially licensed, of course. This also isn’t their first dip into the themed Monopoly party. They’ve also released Monopoly based on Fallout, Game of Thrones, etc.
Monopoly can have long a playtime, so most people these days end up collecting the different versions, and a Final Fantasy VII version would make the perfect addition to any gamer’s collection. The box art is subject to change, but right now it has the main cast minus the optional characters Vincent and Yuffie. It will be interesting to see if the game pieces will be the characters or their weapons. It’ll also be interesting to see what happens after you pass Go for the first time and you have to lay your Aeris piece to rest.
What we do know is that it will probably release before the recently announced Playstation 4 Remake, and you probably won’t have to switch discs halfway through each game.
The board game is currently set to ship on April 14th, 2017 for £34.99/€51.99/$49.99.
