Electronic Arts just wrapped up kicking off E3 2016 and it was… meh. What we were shown were a bunch of games we already knew about–you know, the Titanfall 2s, Mass Effect: Andromedas, and Battlefield 1s. Actually, I’d say I’m jumping the gun by claiming these games were “shown” to us. There wasn’t any gameplay outside of some high-end PC Battlefield 1 footage shown at the end of the conference. Besides that, just a bunch of teasing and seduction. They even had the audacity to send Jade Raymond out on the stage to tell us about Star War games we already knew about. Come. On. Son.
One of the bright spots in EA’s showcase was their announcement of EA Originals, which is basically a branch of the company dedicated to original IPs like Unravel. This is where we’ll see most of EA’s more ambitious and unique IPs–outside the confines of the AAA umbrella of production.
